~ As part of its commitment to the Prince William community, The Rose Gaming Resort and Churchill Downs Incorporated make six figure contribution as part of Rosie’s Gives Back program ~

DUMFRIES, Va. (June 13, 2025)—As part of its ongoing commitment to the Dumfries and Prince William County communities, The Rose Gaming Resort has made a $10,000 contribution to support First Tee of Prince William County. This generous contribution through the Rosie’s Gives Back program supports First Tee’s mission to empower youth by building character, self-confidence, and resilience through the game of golf.

The $10,000 donation was presented to First Tee by Bobbi Sample, General Manager of The Rose Gaming Resort and Rosie’s Dumfries, and Aaron Palmer, Director of Government Relations, accompanied by Del. Luke Torian (24th District.)

“Our team at The Rose is proud to be a trusted community partner in Dumfries and throughout Prince William County,” said Bobbi Sample, General Manager of The Rose and Rosie’s Dumfries. “This contribution to First Tee supports the mission of our Rosie’s Gives Back program by providing meaningful support to organizations working to invest in and strengthen the communities where we live and work.”

“I appreciate The Rose’s continued generosity and investment in the Prince William community,” said Del. Luke Torian. “First Tee does tremendous work to provide opportunities for growth and mentorship. This is a great partnership that will pay dividends for Prince William’s youth.”

First Tee is a youth development organization that integrates golf with a life skills curriculum, creating active learning experiences that help kids grow both on and off the course. Their programs foster inner strength and prepare young people for a lifetime of new challenges.

The Rose Gaming Resort and Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums in Dumfries and around the state contribute to local organizations and causes through the “Rosie’s Gives Back” program which has made more than $5 million in direct donations and in-kind contributions, and donated thousands of hours of volunteer service. The program supports a range of nonprofits and causes around Virginia including groups providing services in education, workforce development, and support for veterans and law enforcement. The goal of the Rosie’s Gives Back program is to meaningfully improve the quality of life in the communities where team members live and work. The company also partners with statewide programs for the broadest impact possible.

First Tee Prince William County Photo Op

~ Town Council passes proclamation expressing its “heartfelt appreciation to The Rose for investing in our community” as part of Business Appreciation Month ~

DUMFRIES, Va. (May 14, 2025)—The Rose Gaming Resort, Northern Virginia’s premier gaming destination, has been recognized by the Dumfries Town Council for its contributions to the town as part of Business Appreciation Month 2025.

In its resolution, the Town of Dumfries “extends its heartfelt appreciation to The Rose for investing in our community and for their dedication to being a valued partner in our town’s future,” while noting that the destination gaming resort is “bringing new opportunities for employment, convenience, and community engagement to our town.”

Vice-mayor Monaé Nickerson presented the proclamation on behalf of Town Council to Bobbi Sample, General Manager of The Rose Gaming Resort and Rosie’s Dumfries during the council’s May 6 meeting.

“Our entire team at The Rose and Churchill Downs Incorporated are so proud to call Dumfries our home and are committed to being a vital part of this exciting new chapter in Dumfries’ storied history,” said Sample. “As Northern Virginia’s premier destination for exciting gaming, great food and drink, and luxurious accommodations, we are proud to be creating jobs, generating tax revenue and economic activity, and serving as a valued member of Dumfries’ business community and civic life.”

The Rose Gaming Resort opened its doors in November 2024 with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony featuring state and local leaders, senior leadership from Churchill Downs Incorporated, and excited guests and players from across the region.

Churchill Downs Incorporated invested $460 million in the destination gaming resort which is expected to create 500 jobs and generate $35.5 million in annual tax revenue.

Located just off I-95 in the Town of Dumfries, The Rose Gaming Resort features a 175,000+ SF Gaming Facility with 1,650 historical horse racing terminals, eight bars and restaurants including 1609 Steakhouse, The Playbook Sports Bar and Grill, and the Market Street Foodhall, and more than 100 hotel rooms.

The Rose is also contributing to the revival of Virginia’s thoroughbred horse racing and equine industry. The opening of The Rose has added sixteen days of live racing to Colonial Downs’ 2025 live racing season, helps fund purses to attract worldclass racing talent, and support jobs around the Commonwealth.

The Rose is committed to being a good neighbor and supporting its home community. The Rose has made considerable investments to support the Dumfries and Prince William County communities including more than $2.4 million in monetary, in-kind, and pledged contributions to the town and local nonprofits, as well as adopted strong wage and local hiring commitments.
