Formerly known as Mass Extinction, The WestMob has deep roots in Washington, D.C.’s live music culture. The group is known for songs including the GoGo classic ‘Happy Feet,’ which inspired its own popular dance movement decades ago that people enjoy until this day.

The band’s musical history also includes a connection to the legendary James Brown, with members having performed as part of the Godfather of Soul’s backing band, the New JB’s. Today, The WestMob continues that tradition of musicianship while creating original music that bridges generations and moves the culture forward.

Rather than simply revisiting the past, The WestMob is celebrating 50 Years of GoGo by contributing new music, new choreography and new experiences to its continuing legacy
